The Department of Child Health, School of Medicine and Dentistry (KSMD) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in collaboration with the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has organised its maiden Child Health Research Conference on the theme: ‘‘Research and Innovations for improved Child Health Care in Ghana.’’

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo with the Germany Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Daniel Krull has officially launched the German-West African Centre for Global Health and Pandemic Prevention (G-WAC) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) The G-WAC was inaugurated on Thursday, 25th November 2021 with funding from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) worth about 2.7 million euros.

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has held its 9th Biennial Scientific Conference at the KNUST Post-Graduate Business School Auditorium. This year’s event was held on 29th and 30th September 2021.

The Scientific Conference is a biennial event organised by the College to bring together health professionals and scientists across the globe to deliberate on the health issues of global concern.

The 9th KNUST Summer School, an event on the University’s calendar came off from the 31st August 2021 to 3rd September 2021. The 3-day event received huge patronage from the members of the university management, representatives from affiliate institutions, resource persons, the university staff, and invited guests.

The School of Public Health, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, yesterday (3rd December, 2019) joined the global community in celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD). The event took place at the forecourt of the Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation Studies under the theme “Promoting the Participation of Persons with Disabilities to Attain the Sustainable Development Goals”. The Dean of the School, Prof.

The School of Public Health (SPH) organized a five-day orientation programme for its newly enrolled Master of Public Health (MPH) students for the 2018/2019 academic year from September 10 – 14, 2018. The objective of the programme was to provide an overview of the MPH programme, its composition, an appreciation of students of their place on the programme, and ultimately an environment for free interaction between students and faculty. Faculty and students were in attendance for the five days of the programme.

The School of Public Health of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science (KNUST) hosted the 1st Stakeholders Meeting as part of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Tobacco Control Capacity Programme at the Great Hall Conference Room under the theme, ‘Tackling the Tobacco Menace in Ghana’. The GCRF aims to build capacity for applied research to reduce tobacco-related harm in low and middle-income countries.

Since it was first held in 2014, the school of public health has consistently held annual election programme in leadership.

The very components of the programs are; leading change, creating learning organization for the change, analyzing situations for change and designing appropriate strategies to address change in organizational settings.

This year’s program brought together experience and expertise of highly involved medical commitment in administration and management.

Newly appointed Staff in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have benefitted from a workshop and orientation organized by the Human Resource Division (HRD) Section of KNUST at the Great Hall Conference Room. This was done to inform and equip the newly appointees regarding their various duties.

Participants were taken through topics such as: University Governance and the Committee System, Ethics at the work place, Effective teaching skills, Identifying and Managing students’ behavior, Scheme of Service, and Office Management and Practice.
