Students and Faculty from the School of Engineering and Applied Science, University Of Pennsylvania visit KNUST

The School of Public Health, College of Health Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is hosting students and faculty form the School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Pennsylvania, USA on an Exchange Programme to Ghana from May 19th to June 14th, 2018. The visit forms part of the Appropriate Point of Care diagnostics initiative between the Kwame University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and the University of Pennsylvania (UPENN) in the United States of America. The aim of this initiative is to foster a north - south relationship and facilitate knowledge transfer between students attending these universities on how to solve diagnostic problems associated with certain diseases pertaining to developing countries.

The focus of this year’s visit to KNUST is to observe whether there are engineering facilities and/or concepts/designs that could help improve the diagnosis, treatment and/or management of nutrition deficiency-related conditions, high-risk pregnancy and mental health in rural and urban Ghana.
